Strict cleanliness is an essential condition for the good operation of all miniature bearings. Tungtai Bearings are made under strict conditions of cleanliness in accordance with ISO Standard (An international standard of quality).

::::MATERIALS::::
Most bearings are made from either STAINLESS STEEL or BEARING STEEL. Unless there is a problem with corrosion you should not notice any difference in performance for hobby applications. If corrosion is a problem then you should be using STAINLESS STEEL bearings.

::::SEALS & SHIELDS::::
Basically, shields and seals are both designed to keep contaminants out of the bearing and to keep the lubricant in. Shields are made from steel, whilst seals are made from rubber or teflon. In simple terms the main types are as follows. Generally, the color of teflon seals of Basico Bearings may be light yellow and blue. The color of rubber seals are also colorful. They may be red, yellow, blue, brown and black.

::::PRECISION GRADES::::

Bearings are manufactured to various precision grades. The precision grade of a bearing ultimately affects the bearings performance. As the precision grade increases from ISO P0 upwards towards ABEC 7. The price increases and the bearing performance increases.

::::RADIAL CLEARANCE::::

The radial clearance of a bearing has nothing to do with quality, but if badly chosen or altered in any way during mounting, it can reduce the working life of a bearing. Most bearings for hobby applications should be in the range of ISO MC3 to MC4.
